  • GRACE BAPTIST SCHOOL HISTORY, AIM AND ACADEMIC RECORDS

Grace Baptist Preparatory School as it was then known was established on the 1st of September, 1984 by Grace Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank Adams. Three years later, Rev. Kojo Osei-Wusuh took over when he became the Head Pastor of the church. The aim for the establishment of the school was to cater for the needs of wards of members of the church and those of the immediate communities. The initial enrollment began at KG 1 level with thirty (30) pupils.

Through the handwork of Rev. Kojo Osei Wusuh, the infrastructure of the school was expanded. With proper management and good leadership backed by sound policies, the school grew from strength to strength. In September 1992, the first batch of primary six (P6) graduates was unconditionally transferred to pursue their Junior Secondary School (J.S.S) programme at St. Augustine and other good schools within the Kumasi Metropolis. These students exhibited academic excellence in their various schools to such an extent that the Headteachers from other schools registered subsequent P6 graduates in their school even before they got to JSS 1.

  • ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

In September 1994, the school established its own Junior Secondary School with initial intake of sixty (60) students and a staff strength of twenty-two (22). By the end of the year, the JSS population had increased to two hundred (200) students. This number included fifty – three (53) final year students who were being prepared for their baptismal Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) in 1997.

  • CURRENT ENROLLMENT AND STAFFING

Grace Baptist School which now consists of the Nursery 1 and 2, Kindergarten 1 and 2, Primary and JHS, with double stream classes has a student population of one thousand, two hundred (1,200). The school has a teaching staff strength of thirty – eight, a Physical Education Instructor, a Librarian and five non – teaching staff namely the secretary, the Bursar and his assistant, the Janitor and the Driver. The minimum qualification of the teachers is Diploma in Basic Education.
